Compulsory credits:

• Lawyers and assistants of the chambers of Vlora and Durres impose the obligation to follow 12 credits for certain fields of law according to identified needs. The first year of development of the pilot phase of continuing legal education extends from September 2011 to June 2012. One credit is equal to 90 minutes of teaching time.
• In the additions and amendments proposed to the Law on the Profession of Lawyer, the DHKASH has provided for the extension of the obligation to participate in the AVL Program for lawyers and assistant lawyers throughout Albania.
• Female candidates and assistant lawyers, after the approval of the proposed changes in the Law, must undergo "Continuing Legal Education" and only after successfully passing this stage can they receive permission to practice the profession of lawyer. Also, the lawyers who currently practice this profession will be obliged to follow the Continuing Training for the purpose of renewing the permit to practice the profession of lawyer.
